Well i got some cash saved up... And its time to kick my old vintage lowrance to the curb...

Now i need something that is good.. and easy to use lol.. The one i have now has more buttons and chit than i can ever know what to do with. And its pretty old. And doesn't show much that i can tell lol

I'd like to have one that showed the depth and water temp for sure lol....

Whats the price for a good decent one... I just looked on cabelas and they have some less than 200... I was thinking they were like 400 ...

Paw paw you ready to sell me yours http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/NorthportTroller/Smileys/yes.gif http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/NorthportTroller/Smileys/yes.gif ......

Also... If possible... If it would save me money.. If they are the same sensor that would be a plus.. Mine has a new one on it now..

You should look for a unit with GPS son. http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/NorthportTroller/Smileys/yes.gif

You don't need a fancy one. The side and down imaging stuff isn't all it's cracked up to be. Just look for a reasonably priced unit with GPS. smile.gif That way you will have tracks and way points which come in very handy. And it will tell you your speed very accurately.

If you can afford it, definitely go for a unit with the color screen, they are so much easier to view.

I will look around for some ideas. Probably would want to look at Humminbird units is my advice.

Another thing you want to make sure is the GPS puck come with it or you got to buy it separate. Also, there is a way to mount the transducer in the boat's hull and shoot through the hull instead of it hanging off the back of the boat. And one unit I had came with a flush mount transducer that mounted right to the outside/bottom of the boat. Both those setups work fine for just shooting depth. Just take a good look at options and what does come with a package and what won;t and will cost you extra.

I have a transducer mounted already for my lowrance ... Not really worried about mounting it.. Altho i know it gets knocked out of wack all the time.. And i have to reach in the water and fix it.

I def want to get one that has speed and water temp. and depth.. I know that! lol.. If not i mise well keep ol faithful lol

This is the cheapest one yet... Its a lowrance... I've had good luck with them before... I've only ever used them for depth finders..
