I used to go on ATV poker runs all the time upstate in the strip mines. We would drive up Saturday and camp out an party overnight in a baseball field and the ride was the next day. Next morning a tent would be setup for signing up and they would have hot food and cold drinks and some riding stuff for sale. About 500 riders show up for it. And follow a 30 mile marked trail through the woods, mountains and the mines. With check points to keep track of the riders and a chance at each one to win money by drawing a poker chip. And it's all run by the fire department so they get all the landowners permissions since they count on the FD to keep their properties safe.
