My daughter;s laptop power jack was acting up, used this great link to tear it apart and re solder the loose connection, works great now, and also gave me the chance to learn more about the insides of computers and their workings. Works good now!! http://i1220.photobucket.com/albums/dd448/NorthportTroller/Smileys/waytogo.gif

Problem is on that model, the power cord plugs into the back of it, instead of the side, so the power jack takes a beating from sitting on a lap. Just a bad spot for it. Usually the cord end gets beat up and needs replaced. But this time was the power jack solder terminal wore loose.

Once I figured out what was wrong, I was very scared to open it up, or intimidated. Don't get me wrong, I replaced parts in laptops before, like the bulb that lights up the screen. But this project required stripping it down to the bare bones and removing the mother board, which scared the hell out of me, lol.

Finally I found that vid on you tube and just followed it one step at a time and it was actually quite enjoyable task. I had fun doing it and learned some stuff. smile.gif

Yah, I think that is worst than tearing the base apart. That monitor section is a bitch, and the little thin bulb for lighting up the screen breaks really easily. mad.gif
