It's been almost 6 months since I wet a line. The weather is slowly starting to change. As are the trees. Earlier sunsets. That starts to get the fisherman in me fired up. Going on the post full moon now. Waning gibbious. Heavy rains over night with scattered showers and down pours today off and on. River is rising, staining, flow is increasing, temp is slowly dropping a degree or too, low pressure, cloudy, humid. Creeks are filling the ditch up, flushing food out, along with the debris. Valley Creek flooded up to 7-8 feet twice in the past 12 hours.
I got no work today, and NO KIDS!!!
I am in the garage, going through the minimal tackle I will need. Heavy split shots from Jay, my #2 Eagle Claw J-hooks on leaders, snap swivels, my medium 6' Rhino rod with aluminum reel seat grip. And Penn Prion 2400 reel, spooled with 30 pound green Power Pro, tied to swivel with 2 1/2 foot 12 LB mono leader and snap swivel on end of that. Bolting the driftmaster on that drivers side so I can anchor sideways to keep debris off the line. The thin line should hold in the current with lighter weight. Now just got to hope I hit the right spots, debris isn't ridiculous and the fish are on the feed. I am going to give it the old college try!!!
