So last might after anchored up for like an hour and a half and I am engrossed in watching the movie "Predator" on my ipod, I notice something in front of the boat. Looked like a log drifting down the river. But it was throwing out a wake. http://northporttroller.b1.jcink.com/blink.gif

I was like wtf? I turned the spot light on and I saw a light colored head or back and it started treading water all over the place. For the first few minutes I swore it was a giant snake. I was scared shitless. I fired the boat up and pulled the anchor to investigate and try to keep a safe distance. I followed it like 50 yards along the bank. Every once in a while it made a big splash. Then I lost sight of it.

Thoughts? Big carp maybe? What mammal would be out there in that cold water doing that? Beaver? Muskrat? Racoon? I'm still creeped out.

I kinda dont think snakes can survive water that cold... being cold blooded and all I think their bodies would shut down.

Yah, that's what I was thinking, so it had to be some kind of mammal or a Carp.

Beavers wearing a fur coat, that cold don't bother them. http://www.freesmileys.org/smileys/smiley-hug005.gif
