About to try and have it running tonight after parking it in the spring. I was doing a lot of riding on it but lack of rear suspension was killing my back. I also lost my best riding spot for it due to some clowns that wouldnt stop taking their jeep's on the trails. Kicking her sideways around a corner and coming face to face with a jeep wrangler is not gangster. Anyway gonna set this thing up in hopes of snow with some routine maintenance. new plug fresh oil clean fuel filter clean carb
I will record a video of it running... let you guys hear the harley 1200 sporster pipe I put on it (It didnt have anything when I first got it)
Changed oil, checked spark plug, cleaned carb... tried to pry it off but I have rubber intake tube so rigged up I decided to just blast it out while still hooked up
pretty easy to get at sprayed the exhaust down with wd40 because Its about to rust out again... its on its second pipe and they are hard as hell to find
here is a picture of the connected harley "muffler"
while doing my lil tune up I realized in the 8 years I have had this thing I never changed the gear oil in the rear.. Drained it and a little bit of mud looking stuff came out... put some valvoline gear oil I had laying around in it.
In the 8 years I have had this thing only a few things have broken or worn out 1. Exhaust pipe rusted out and I found a used one on ebay 2. Shift shaft stripped out so I ran a bolt through it and a year later the whole thing broke off so I replaced it again with an ebay part 3. plastic threads to the choke plunger broke off so I ended up finding a whole spare carb with cables from 3wheeler world forums this pos is on its last legs... hopefully some fresh gas in her tomoorow and she fires up
Nice... The electrical on those KLT's were usually shit.... I used to ride and race 3wheelers... Used to be in my blood... Not so much anymore... But i do still love them. I'd like to have another fast one...
