Holy fuxxx

I've torn one of those lower units apart before. Not too bad. Easier than most.

You can replace few seals with lower unit on the engine. The rest you must remove the lower unit.

Yeah, holy fux! I get a tablespoon of water here and there but it usually doesn't make the oil cloudy like that, I change mine 2 times a year, cheap insurance.

What kind of oil you using and when was the last time you replaced it?
Didn't your Force motor crack a piece in the l/u due to water in the oil?

That black oil spots is from shit already in the drain pan. All that came out was white water. I'm using the recommended Mercury brand oil. Thing that gets me is you see no sign of a leak. Past few weeks it slowy started getting noisy in neutral gear. I last changes the oil last spring so it is over due. I'll have to keep and eye on it. Thank god it isn't winter and that shit didn't freeze.

Jay I don't understand what you are asking me. There are no cracks in the housing of the lower unit. The sketch has the tip broken off, that was done by the previous owner. I hit something 2 years ago that tweaked the prop shaft so it has a slight wobble. And that impact cracked the top motor housing in a spot.

I am thinking its the seal inside on the driveshaft/ water pump or the shift linkage seal. It definitely is not the prop shaft seal.

Well I am waiting for the mail man, tracking says my parts should be here today. Went to wally world and got my lower unit oil. I got to replace the driveshaft seals and put in a new water pump. I'll throw up pics of the carnage when I do this. Hoping to get it done today.
