Anybody here ever lose a leaf spring on their trailer? I was cruising up 202 and the pass side leaf spring snapped off behind the axle. I originally thought the hub blew because I heard a ruckus behind the truck, then metal rattling, with smoke billowing out of the right rear wheel in the mirror.

I pulled over fearing a blown hub. But I found out upon investigation the leaf spring snapped and dropped the wheel into the fender. I jacked up the trailer, busted out the tool kit, and removed the fender. Then used a bungee cord to tie up the loose broken leaf and shackle up on the frame. The pivot bolts and holes in the shackle were also very worn and loose fiting,

Got some work to do, will redneck bump stop the broken side with an old wheelbarrow tire to make it through the week ahead, and order the correct replacement parts and get this fixed.

Never had that happen, that's what you get when you put that new fuel tank in and fill it up, plus the redneck windshield, just too much for the old girl to handle.

That's what I get for daily towing the boat all year.

I ordered all the needed replacement parts off of etrailer.com and will spend my 4th of JJ fixing her up. New springs, shackles, greaseable bolts. etcz....

Drive it until the fuggin wheels fall off.

I wonder how many miles your trailer has on it

Inspect all those damn spring mount bolts. Thats what i've seen come apart on most trailers. I need to go through mine soon.

Etrailer has greaseable bolts for 3 bucks a piece. Yh my shits all sloppy so I ordered new everything except the hangers.

Since I bought it I'd say it got a good 30,000 miles on it and I haven't put a dime into the suspension until now. Except for the grease in the hubs.
