How loud do you like your ride? My truck is pretty stinking loud to the point of shaking the house when I first start it up so if I want to go for a drive while the kids are napping I have to roll it out into the drive way and onto the street so that I don't wake them up. The burb is more of a nice low rumble now that I've made some mods to it but nothing very loud since it's mainly the wife's and the kids ride in it all the time. My GP is quieter the better. You don't want that motor amplified or you'll hear the little hamster running out of breathe
![]() On trucks I like them with quite a bit of rumble and loud when you get on it. I've driven my truck with open headers before and that is a little much for me. Makes your ears bleed ![]() NORTHPORTTROLLER: the only forum on the web where the owner will troll his own site ![]() |

Cherry Bomb's ALL DAY. Right now I have a Dynomax super turbo on my Ranger and its pretty quiet... My cavi is getting a cherry bomb right after I get it inspected in July
along with some other money getting sunk into so I can train it to eat VW's all day |

I like a nice low rumble but as long as it's legal it's fine with me.

I prefer the quieter setups. I had plenty of loud exhausts in the past, had enough of it. And I can't stand those 4 cyl loud ass farting exhausts buzzing around here, piss me off.
I do love to see and hear a nice throaty exhaust system drive by. But I don;t want to own it. And I absoloutly can't stand those loud ass Harley exhausts with the open pipes. ![]() ![]() |

Ive never bought a muffler in my life... And almost ever car or truck ive owned has had loud exhaust
My 08 got the muffler chopped off when it had less than 1000 miles on it ![]() I had a 1990 Mercury grand marquis with 2 inch straight pipes out the back.. Sounded really nice.. 92 mercury grand marquis with a 2 1/2 inch single striaght pipe that sounded really nice it was decently quite and had a nice rumble.. Ive had tons of other cars and trucks with exhaust lol |

I dont like the rackety poppety noise of my cherry bombs on the big truck, I would just as soon have straight pipes and get the full effect. For my daily driver I want it quiet.

Well all Im saying is Im starting to wish I went with the cherry bomb turbo muffler and not the glasspack thats now on my cavlier. I should have known that even with the new catalytic converter that a straight through muffler that flows that good wont give me enough backpressure to keep the low to mid range power I just gained with my new intake. So now its loud and slow...
It wouldnt be so bad if I could enjoy the top end power It has now. Everytime It starts to hit the peak power in the rpm range the auto trans shifts ![]() |

There's a big difference from sounding good loud & sounding like shit loud.I guess I'm getting old,I don't even like tire noise anymore.I actually put highway tires on my HD2500,its the stupidest thing I've ever done.I feel the same way about the exhaust on a truck you drive everyday. I've always kept my daily driver chevy trucks stock.I've never needed new exhaust under em,so I've left them alone. My chevelle has 3 inch pipe into dynomax chambered offset mufflers. No tailpipes, just turn downs & it's set off car alarm loud. The motor has a decent cam,so it sounds sweet.I think it sounds better through the exhaust, than open headers.
