One night I was driving home and I noticed every time I pulled away from a redlight my rear wheels spun. I pulled pver and smelt oil, popped the hood open and checked the oil and it was almost gone.
I made it a mile home. Took off work the next morning and checked it out, here that o-ring on the top of the diverter block blew and the whole thing was loose.
Used the old laptop to find out what to do and found hte right parts, ran to the auoto store and got the gasket kit and installed it. I never had one of those setups before so it was new territory to me. Now I know those two socket head bolts are under the oil filter and I can check them for snugness whenever I change the oil as precaution. And I got the tool sizes logged on my comp so I know which wrenches I need to do all this.
Next thing that will go will be one of those oile line hoses I bet that run to the cooler in front of the radiator. I checked those lines and didn't see any cracking or rubbing anywhere so I hope I am good on them for a while.
So basically that diverter block diverts engine oil to the front cooler and returns it to the motor.
