Got some stuff in yesterday, got the lower grip, butt cap, reel seat glued in, gonna do the foregrip later today.

dude you posted this at a perfect time, I was going to start a thread too see if anyone here builds their own rods. This is some thing I'm looking at getting into.

This is the glue I use for rod handles and reel seats, 2 part mix, and alcohol for cleaning up.

Notice in the second pic I used a little tape so the grip would fit snug. When you do a reel seat you usually need the tape arbors like I made or you can buy arbors and sand them to the right size. The tape works good though and they sell all different sizes for rod building.
If your gonna build a rod it's a good idea to get a few rolls of different sizes cause your gonna need them for temporarily holding down guides, holding threads and making reel seat arbors.

So what you mean is, and I had to do a bit of Googling to understand what you are saying here, is that you use the tape to build up the actual rod blank so the grip fits snug, correct?
