Got 2 cats and 1 stick. The boys had fun after a long week of being sick. Tried out my new Whisker Whips but no cats on them. The tank held fuel as far as I know didnt smell anything
I am leaving to fish the King Kat tournament on the Mississippi in 3 weeks (the 22nd) To pre fish 3-4 days for the tournament on the 28th-29th. My question is for you river guys as I mostly fish Lakes and some small rivers on and off a couple time a year With the water temps dropping and hitting a big river for the 1st time. Where would you start to pre fish this big river with 3-4 days of fishing/scouting? The boundaries are 3 pools 17-18-19 covering what looks to be about 60-90 miles of fish able water? Lots of Islands not sure of depth around them or the depth of the main channel cant find any charts with depths? This is fishing for Channels and Flats No Blues are supposed to be in these pools. My thinking/early plan is hitting all 3 dams and drift/troll the channel for about 5-10 miles down river in which would be one day? From what I have seen on google maps the whole shore looks good for flats as far as trees/cover/cuts/creeks lots of possible spots just don't know depths. Still looking for a hot/water discharge? Should i do a couple night trips to find some fish also? Any help would be appreciated as this is going to be a long interesting sleepless trip for me and hopefully a FUN and Safe Adventure on the Mississippi. Thanks for any and all help!
