I do almost all my catfishing on a main lake or river. I have done some tailwater fishing from a dam but really have not had a lot of luck doing it that way. Some days i'll catch some cats but most times I get nothing. I'd like to have a little bit more success. How much weight, what type of rigs works best and how would you fish it? I usually use 2 or 3 oz weight depending on the cfs. I done different rigs but I use a carolina rig most of the time with cut bait. I usually drop it right where the water is turning up the most. Sometimes I will move down the tailwater if I can but at times that is not an option. I went to Loyalhanna lake dam today and looked around. I will use what I saw today as a guide for what you guys would do. They had 3 of the 4 gates open. The cfs was 865. I will note that I usually will only fish there if cfs is a little lower but we can use what I saw today as the guide. Thanks for any help in advance.

Crazy Golf Video

I was going to put this in the sports section but really was no place to post it to. This is a crazy video. I think they both were doing a little drinking before they did this.

About a month ago I lost a very special member of the family. I had to put my dog down. Hardest thing I have every down in my life. Did not know if I wanted another dog so soon but I was talked into it and got a new puppy last week. Puppy is kicking my ass. He is keeping me very busy. He is half Alaskan Malamute and half Redbone Coon Hound. He looks more like a lab mix right now. He is almost 3 months old. My question is because he has some coon hound in him I am thinking about making him my fishing and hunting buddy. Does anyone know how to make a puppy/dog not gun shy and when I should start. I had other dogs in my life but never tired to make one a hunting dog.

I don't know if anyone will care but I decided to post a thread for the Houston Astros. I'm a huge Astros fan. Even though the last 3 or 4 years have been bad, we have had overall a good history of winning. We had an ass of a gm that put the farm system in a big hole. We just did not have the talent to replace older players. We now have a new owner and a new GM that looks like they know what they are doing. I'm really high on the new GM. It's still going to be a long year but i feel we will surprise some people and do better than what people say we will do. If we win today we will have won 2 of the 3 series we played so far this year.
